Upload Manager

How to configure your PC for the Klixo Upload Control

Klixo have developed an Upload Control that works with the Upload Manager to upload documents and media files to your website automatically. All you have to do is choose the files from your computer.

Here are a few tips for problem free installation and running of the control:

"Not logged in to the Klixo Web Service" Error

1. Make sure that you only use the Upload Control on the Upload Manager page. To get to this page:

2. Double check that the privacy warning icon (looks like an eye) is not showing in the status bar of Internet Explorer. IE can be pretty draconian about cookies at times and you need to ensure that it accepts all cookies from klixo.net.nz

3. Double check that when the upload manager is loaded that you can see the "Trusted Sites" icon in the status bar of Internet Explorer. If you can't you will need to add "*.klixo.net.nz" to your Trusted Sites in the security settings.

4. The upload manager relies on cookies to get the login details for your website. Un-install any software that attempts to manage cookies, including toolbars, and so called "privacy-data-protection" software.

5. Disable any toolbars and add-ons that are not required
Internet Explorer may automatically install Toolbars that you don't really need, and these can interfere with the operation of some advanced web applications like Klixo. We recommend that you uninstall or disable toolbars and addins that you are not using, or that you don't trust.

To disable Add-ons:
  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons
  2. Go through the list of Add-ons and disable any that you are not using or do not trust

A list of Add-ons that we have tested with Klixo and that you can trust:

  • Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper
  • Google
  • Google Toolbar Helper
  • Google Toolbar Notifier
  • ieSpell
  • ieSpell Options
  • SSVHelper Class
  • Sun Java Console
  • Windows Messenger

6. Disable Pop-up blockers for klixo.net.nz. If you are using a popup blocker, be sure to allow all popups from klixo.net.nz.

If you are still having problems after taking these steps, contact Klixo Support.
